Damo, Not only is Solo 7 eqiupped with an old blind, I think the rear desti needs a bit of re-programming.
It was on the 12 on Thursday, informatively displaying "Airline Shuttle"
decker 23 parked at the front, complete with a wonky fleet number and painted window seals.
They ran out of time for painting towards the end of the summer so it's a bit of a rush job.
Besides - unlike the rest of the fleet, these buses are practically doing "charity work" - after the Council withdrew funding for a lot of the school routes, Arriva and other companies walked away - but N+D stepped in and are running them "commercially" for what appears to be a very low profit - fair play I say! That's why they had to purchase a load of new deckers at 'relatively' short notice; and they definitely look better in N+D livery than in Lothian red!
I believe that the ECW Oly, and the Citibus may also be painted in a similar manner in the not-too-distant future...
63 was also on red arrow due to a 'screen going on one of the irizars on Friday. I'm not sure if this was the cause of the ongoing lack-of-irizar on Saturday first thing - but the glaziers certainly seemed to be taking their time fitting the new screen.
I saw unibus solo 456 on the Allestree Red about half 5 on Saturday, outside Park Farm.
I can see now why they have kept their old numerals, so that they still have the red and blue circles, plus dot shsould they need to go on other routes.
