Concessionary TravelI am not sure what area this fits into, so I have decided to put it here!
Why oh why is there a perception from people over 60 with a concessionary travel pass that they are travelling for free? Do they not realise that there local authority has to pick up the bill for all these people travelling.
Roll on April when they can travel where they want - bring it on!

Sheer fact is, most (not all) of the pass holders are a pain in the a*** who wouldn't have paid the half fare required before to do the short journey, but would now.
A typical example of this was someone who got on the R1 on Saturday in Eastwood, (the stop before Morrisons), to get off at Morrisons, said person seemed to have no mobility difficulties but I have no doubt if said person had to pay half the fare as previously required to do the same down hill short journey, they wouldn't of got on the bus then.
One of 3, 000, 000 examples I can think of.

I have always maintained that the government should have offered a reduction on council tax for the over 60's instead of free travel on buses - I can see that alot of Council's are going to have problems funding this scheme next year.

Agreed. To be honest, what was wrong with the old scheme anyway? Half fare?
Now we've got paying passengers who have to give up their seats and/or have the bus going past them full to the brink of freebies.
The funniest thing is, you then hear them moaning about having to pay half fare before 09:30, and having to pay full fare on night owls.
Sheer brilliance.
Next year should be fun, fun, fun.

For an elderly lady your grammar is appaling! And they say today's standards are slipping.
NO Trains to be featured. So it'll be the long bus journey I'm afraid.

The statutory requirement is to provide bus travel only. The provision of train and tram services is at the discretion of the relevant local authority.

Sames applied to Manchester as with Nottingham, you can't use their tram for free, so I'm guessing it's gonna be the same all round near enough?

Well in Sheffield you can use the tram, as well as trains I think!
