I saw at least two of the three-axle Omnilinks (301-303) on eventlink Goose Fair services on Saturday - I assume these have been sold by NCT to Premiere?

They were never NCTs in the first place lol. The Tri-Axles were and are still property of Nottingham City Council...........

Don't suppose they've got much to do with em now... oh apart from kick the council's arse and get em repainted... they look an absolute shambles on the outside.

Red would look brilliant on them with subtle, but in the style of the city council. Maybe shoplink style but with red in place of blue, then similar lettering/branding to the current event-link writing.

Agreed with you on the colour scheme there Perry. They certainly played their part though for Goose Fair though. Are they still staying with Premiere permanently, or was it just a short term thing for Goose Fair??

I somehow can't see them going back to NCT as the one I was on yesterday has had all of the CCTV removed and most of the internal adverts removed.

Not too sure what else you could do with them now, but I agree with Perry that they could do with a lick of paint.

The CCTV units and all fare collecting equipment belong to NCT, they have a checklist of things to remove before sale of vehicle (includes assault screen/blind/fare box etc) I remember seeing one of them on a premiere Solo when they were purchased this time last year.

The Omnilinks are to remain with premiere travel as part of the event-link scheme, this is funded by the City Council (hence the name)

www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/eventlink

You can even make a suggestion for events.

I suppose there's no point of over £300,000 of vehicle sat in the yard for the majority of the year so why not use them out in service.

Still disagree with the paintwork but hopefully this will be temporary.

Are they being used on the X9 on a more permanent basis?

I was on the 63 the other day and someone signalled the bus to stop and it turned out was after the X9. Driver told him to look out for the big green buses now cos they were changing...

Wouldn't surprise me to be honest. I think Premiere want the MAN's for stuff like the X1, and the Eventlink buses are very well suited to thrashing down the A60 (:

The Omnilinks are now permanetly(ish) allocated to X9.

The MANs are on the X1 to solve some of the capacity issues the Solos are 'suffering' with.

The Omnilinks aren't planned to be repainted either yet apparently.

Doesn't make much sense having over £300,000 of Omnilink sat at Trent Bridge doing nothing so I suppose it's good getting use out of them, but as far as I'm aware, the City Council object wholeheartedly to their 'branded' buses being used on wrong routes.
